Programs

In order to keep our district clean and attractive, a hired maintenance team regularly paints street furniture, fire hydrants, and parking meter posts, and removes graffiti. In addition, the workers maintain planters, sweep sidewalks, empty garbage cans, and remove debris on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For information, click here.

The Marketing Committee of the MSBA maintains a co-op advertising program with the aim of differentiating the district from other areas. A number of advertising “shells,” which may be customized to individual businesses, are available. For information, click here.

Property and business owners within the district may be reimbursed for up to one third of the cost of revitalizing their buildings and storefronts. Annual funding from the MSBA is divided into three areas: facades, signage, and awnings. Funds are awarded to applicants by the Visual Improvement Committee on a first-come, first-served basis. The Main Street Business Alliance maintains 41 parking spaces as free shopper parking with a two-hour time limit. There are also employee parking spaces available to Alliance members at discount rates. For information, email programs@DowntownHackensack.org.

There are many wonderful and cost-effective sponsorship opportunities available to both alliance members and non members alike. These sponsorships are now in the form of annual sponsorships, and are prorated depending upon when sponsors sign up. With one investment, sponsors receive placement at our events, on our website, in our emails and newsletters, and all of the other marketing opportunities we offer.
