Time to shop small businesses on Main Street
Small Business Saturday will be here soon enough—November 26 to be exact. The day when we honor local businesses through our patronage. What began as a campaign from American Express back in 2010 has blossomed into a grassroots initiative for towns and cities across the country.
Sure, for shopping, you can always go to that one giant website, add all your gifts to a virtual shopping cart, and click send; or be crammed in the mall waiting on line forever. But that’s not holiday shopping. It’s not strolling down a scenic Main Street holding a cup of warm coffee with a dollop of whipped cream while looking at all the festive windows. Downtown Hackensack has its own personality. Just walk into any of the shops, and you’ll be part of a unique cultural experience you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a place where you’ll not only find that perfect holiday gift but learn the story behind it from an actual living breathing human being. Fashion. Dining. Art. Makeup. Pastries. Shopping on Main Street has everything you need in one picturesque place. And with Main Street now being two-ways, it has become even more accommodating to holiday car and foot traffic. So after you’ve had all the turkey leftovers you can handle, don’t forget to visit Main Street for Small Business Saturday on November 26. Who knows what you’ll discover?
