What’s up for Downtown this Memorial Day?

Well, we all blinked our eyes and now, Memorial Day Weekend is almost upon us. So what do you have planned for the weekend? BBQs, BBQs and more BBQs? If you’re looking for something to enjoy other than burgers, hot dogs, and a pound of potato salad, you can always take a stroll down Main Street to celebrate the holiday at the local bars and restaurants. You can also take part in these Downtown Hackensack community events:

The CMDE Danceathon on Saturday, May 28. To mark the 60th year of serving the community, The Center for Modern Dance Education (CMDE) will be showcasing a performance of their dance students ranging from age 6 to over 70. Those with disabilities. Guest artists. All will join together to perform all types of dance at the HACPAC. The performance takes place from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm with tickets costing $10 to $20.

Yoga Fury x Grounding Root x Yoga of the Heart x Alementary on Sunday, May29. Get your downward dog on, Downtown with Zen masters Danielle at Yoga of the Heart, and Kurt at Yoga Fury. Together the two will be leading a Grounding Root style yoga class, both indoors and outdoors. Class starts at 10:30 am and costs $30.

The Wreath Laying Ceremony on Monday, May 30th. Join us at 11 am as we gather together for our wreath laying ceremony at the Church on the Green. Sponsored by the Bergen County Historical Society, we will be honoring those veterans from Hackensack who have given their lives to serve our country, by laying a wreath on the grave of General Enoch Poor—a brigadier general during the Revolutionary War.
