At the Main Street Business Alliance (MSBA), our mission has always been clear—supporting the businesses, property owners, and residents of Downtown Hackensack to create a vibrant, thriving community. As we move into an exciting new chapter, I’m proud to introduce our newly elected Executive Board Members and the addition of two dynamic leaders, Omar Juarbe and LeVar Thomas, to our Board of Directors.
New Executive Board Members
The Executive Board plays a crucial role in setting the strategic direction for the MSBA, ensuring that our initiatives continue to drive growth and enhance Main Street’s appeal. This year, we welcome a refreshed leadership team:

- Gary Banoun, Vice-Chairman – of GAM Realty
- Jose A. Valencia, Treasurer – of DVL Consulting Engineers

Their combined expertise in business, community development, and economic revitalization will be instrumental in shaping the future of Hackensack.
New Board Members: Omar Juarbe & LeVar Thomas
We’re also thrilled to welcome Omar Juarbe, a highly respected entrepreneur and community advocate, and LeVar Thomas, the owner of Iconic Coffee, a standout local business that has quickly become a staple in our downtown.
Omar has been a driving force in the local business community, known for his innovative approach to entrepreneurship and deep commitment to Hackensack’s economic development. His leadership will bring fresh energy to our initiatives, helping to bridge the gap between small businesses and city-wide growth strategies.
LeVar, with his passion for community engagement and business excellence, has built Iconic Coffee into more than just a coffee shop—it’s a space that fosters connection and culture. His insights as a local business owner will be invaluable as we continue to support and elevate businesses along Main Street.
